ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Are you loving the weather that Saturday has brought? Well, we have more of that for you! A large area of high pressure continues to bring dry and sunny weather to much of the central and eastern United States. This means skies will stay clear as we head into Saturday night. Tonight would be great for a bonfire, haunted house, or haunted hayride. Temperatures will start to fall through the 40s after sunset and overnight low temperatures are expected to drop into the upper-30s for Rochester and the mid-30s for areas south of Rochester.
Sunday starts out chilly with temperatures in the upper-30s through the early morning, but highs will rebound into the mid-60s with a forecasted high of 66 degrees for Rochester. Much of Western New York is either at peak or past peak foliage, so be sure to take advantage of this rare, warm October weekend. Temperatures will stay a bit milder Sunday night as some clouds start to move in ahead of a warm front. Lows are expected to drop into the mid-40s for Rochester and the low-40s for higher elevations. Winds stay light out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.
Though a cold front approaches into Monday, the center of the low pressure moves far off to our north and any approaching rain should stay in the North Country and the Tug Hill area. Rochester, the Finger Lakes, and the Southern Tier should stay dry with some passing clouds and highs in low to mid 60s. Winds will pick up a bit on Monday and change from the southwest to the northwest at 10 to 25 mph. A few gusts near 25 mph may be possible. This cold front will bring a drop in temperature on Tuesday with highs in the low-50s. However, this is short lived. More warm air moves in through the midweek and we may find our highs, once again, in the upper 60s!
