Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is expected to start Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons, according to multiple reports.
According to ESPN and NFL Network, the Bears are “planning” to start Williams on Sunday after he missed three games with a hamstring injury.
Williams was a full participant in Bears’ practice throughout the week and took all the first-team reps, and now he will make his return to the field when the Bears try to bounce back from their Week 5 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Bears went 2-1 in Williams’ absence, with Case Keenum leading the team to a win over the Philadelphia Eagles and Tyson Bagent helping the team to a strong performance in their win over the New York Jets.
Williams had a massive first game against the Carolina Panthers, throwing for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the game, and he also rushed for two more. He was a lot more limited against the Minnesota Vikings, throwing for 138 yards and an interception before injuring his hamstring in the fourth quarter of that game.
The Bers will of course hope for the former when it comes to Williams on Sunday, especially as the team will still be without running back Kyle Monangai, who will miss his second straight game with toe and thumb injuries.
