Despite the home-pool advantage, the Georgetown Hoyas won on the road, with the women taking 139-88, and the men securing a convincing 160-67 victory.

Lila Connor led the Hoya women, winning the 100 and 200 free in 53.20 and 1:54.59, respectively. She is one of only two Hoya women to bring home multiple individual event wins; the other is Kailin Lee, who added two more freestyle wins in the 500 free (5:11.01) and 1000 free (10:33.03).

One of the closest races of the entire meet came in the women’s 200 free relay, as the Georgetown team of Taplin Seelback, Madie Malone, Connor, and Celia Watkins narrowly out-touched Howard’s ‘A’ relay of Victoria Williams, Kaliyah Hinson, Jasmine Morgan, and Gabrielle Vickles by two one-hundredths of a second in 1:35.82.

Georgetown also was leveraged on the women’s side by event winners Seelback (50 free, 24.24), Kiana Koechlin (200 IM, 2:10.34), Celia Watkins (100 back, 56.40), and Catherine Bu (100 breast, 1:05.33).

The Georgetown men had their own fair share of big-time performers; Lucas Knapp won the 200 free and 500 free in 1:43.04 and 4:40.48, respectively.

In addition to Knapp’s wins, seven other Hoya men won individual events.

Ben Tulia led a 1-2 finish in the 200 IM for Georgetown, touching only .02 ahead of his teammate Isaac Goltham (1:56.56) in 1:56.54. Holden Brown also added a narrow victory to Georgetown’s win total, beating Owen Watkins (50.51) by just over half a second in the 100 butterfly (49.85).

Continuing the theme of exciting finishes, Georgetown opened the meet with a two-one-hundredths win over Howard in the 200 medley relays as Maxon Brienza, Braden Ripken, Holden Brown, and Sean Neils powered to a 1:32.01 win, just ahead of Howard in 1:32.03.

Alyssa Napier won the 100 fly for the Howard women in 56.58. The Howard women’s only other individual win came on the boards, as Jala Wilson took the 1-meter win with a time of 86.50.

The Bison men took only one individual win, in the 100 breaststroke, as Mark Brown won by just over a quarter of a second in 58.27.
