Robbery charges have been filed against a Chicago woman in connection with a shooting in the parking lot of Oakbrook Center Mall last week.
According to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office, the 29-year-old woman has been charged with three felony counts of armed robbery in connection to the incident, which unfolded on Wednesday afternoon outside of the Oak Brook mall.
Police say a confrontation between two groups of people in the parking lot ended in gunfire. A 28-year-old Dolton man was shot and killed during the confrontation, and a woman was also injured by gunfire, according to authorities.
At least one vehicle fled the scene after the shooting, and while three people were initially taken into custody, they were released without charges, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney.
It’s unclear if the suspect charged on Monday was one of those initially taken into custody.
No further charges have been filed so far in the case, according to authorities.
