Nicole Richie and Joel Madden’s 18-year-old daughter, Kate Madden, shared a rare photo of herself.
On Friday, October 2, the teenager posted two photos on Instagram for the first time in months.
The daughter of the 45-year-old The Simple Life alum and 47-year-old singer wore a pink-and-black lace crop top with frilly sleeves, paired with low-rise black shorts and black heels. She accessorized the look with a black handbag and jewelry, including bracelets, a necklace, and a belly button ring. She captioned the photos “#dolled.”

The page was publicly confirmed to be hers after Richie wished her daughter a happy birthday, writing “18 years of you ♥️? @katemaddennn” in the caption.
This also broke the news that she doesn’t use her first name, Harlow, but instead goes by her middle name, Kate.
“Yeah, she goes by her middle name,” the reality TV personality and actress told People in January. “She has her whole life.”
In October 2025, Richie shared with People what it’s like seeing her two children grow into teenagers.
“I very much remember I think now that I’m seeing my kids at an age where I remember everything from that age, so they’ll be telling me stories of whatever the comings and goings of them and their friends, and it sounds exactly like what I was going through senior year,” she said at the time. “It’s fun. It’s like a TV show.”
