Tayla Campanile of Walnut Creek, California has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and athletic career at Brigham Young University.

Big thanks go out to my family, friends, teammates, and coaches who have always believed in me and always supported me. I’m so grateful to Tamber and all the coaches at BYU for this opportunity. Go Cougs!!”
Campanile swims for the Walnut Creek Aquabears and Las Lomas High School. She most recently competed at Futures in Sacramento where she swam to a win in a lifetime best 32.44 50 breast. She also made the ‘A’ final in the 100 breast with a 1:13.31, another lifetime best.
Back in May, she swam to a 4th place finish at the CIF State Championship with a 1:02.36 100 breast while swimming for Las Lomas High School.
Campanile’s Best SCY Times Are:
100 breast: 1:01.77 200 breast: 2:20.99The BYU women finished 8th out of 10 teams at the 2026 Big 12 Championships with 524 points. Lucy Warnick led the team with 56 individual points including a 3rd place finish in the 400 IM.
Based on her best times, Campanile is on the border of the ‘B’ and ‘C’ final in the 100 breast. That is a huge addition for BYU as they only had one swimmer in the event this past season at Big 12s as Maddie Johnson was 34th in a 1:04.73. Campanile also brings medley relay potential as well. It took a 2:17.21 to score in the 200 breast.
Campanile will arrive next fall as a member of the class of 2031. She is the first public commitment for the class.
