An Aurora man was arrested for multiple felonies after attacking several people during a festival on Saturday, prosecutors said.
Calvin Jones, 30, was charged with three counts of aggravated battery in a public place, a Class 3 felony and aggravated battery to a police officer, a Class 2 felony.
Prosecutors said Jones allegedly punched a 15-year-old boy, two women and a man who was carrying his 1-year-old child, all unprovoked, at the Moon Festival at the Pacifica Square strip mall.
Officers located Jones a short time later near a restaurant at 4400 Fox Valley Center Drive. While being detained, Jones allegedly spat in the face and eye of a police officer.
The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said Jones is currently on pretrial release for burglary out of DeKalb County.
His next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 13.
