OXNARD, Calif. (KEYT) – The Oxnard Police Department is investigating a shooting after two men arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds around 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
OPD officers received calls about a person with a gun and tried to stop a fleeing vehicle from the area of Edison Drive and McWane Boulevard.
OPD officers arrested two people after a vehicle pursuit and took one gun from the scene. Both people arrested did not appear to be directly involved in the shooting.
The OPD Violent Crimes Unit took over the investigation and it appears both shooting victims were involved in an altercation where they exchanged gunfire.
Both shooting victims remain hospitalized and are in stable condition. The investigation remains ongoing and those with more information on the incident are asked to contact the OPD.
