2026 Copa Internacional
September 3-6, 2026 Queretaro, Mexico Short Course Meters (25m) Results on Meet Mobile: “Copa Internacional QRO2026 CC” (search Queretaro)Australian Kyle Chalmers, Italian Thomas Ceccon, and Brit Adam Peaty were the headliners of the 2026 Copa Internacional in Queretaro, Mexico, as all three swimmers returned to racing after their major summer championships.
The meet, hosted in Central Mexico, annually imports some of the world’s biggest swimming stars to compete against, teach via clinics, and inspire local swimmers.
Among the names who have raced in the past include Leon Marchand, Hubert Kos, Cesar Cielo, Anthony Ervin, Kelsi Dahlia, Alia Atkinson, Jay Litherland, Michael Andrew, Chase Kalisz, Arno Kamminga, Katinka Hosszu, Felipe Lima, and Nic Fink.
Chalmers won the 50 free (21.72) and the 100 free (46.96).
Ceccon, meanwhile, won the 100 back in 54.47 and also the 50 fly in 23.02. One of the marquee matchups of the meet, he out-touched Chalmers by .01 seconds in the 50 fly final to win. Chalmers got the payback later in the meet, beating out Ceccon in the 50 free by .11 seconds.
Peaty, never as renowned for his short course abilities as his long course times, won the 100 breaststroke in 57.71 and the 50 breaststroke in 26.64.
Peaty, who publicly expressed a lot of disappointment with his results at the recent Commonwealth Games, probably had the most promising results of the meet.
While none of the three were in attendance to challenge their best times, Peaty’s swims were similar, or faster, than he was at some World Cup stops last fall.
Of some note purely for entertainment’s sake, Peaty and Chalmers also raced in the 25 meter events. Peaty was 4th in the 50 free in 11.00, while Chalmers won the 50 breast in 12.47. The top performer in the 25 free was local swimmer Lorenzo Loria Elias, who finished in 10.44.
