Junior Nationals qualifier Olivia George has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Pittsburgh beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am so excited and blessed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Pittsburgh! Thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for the support that has gotten me to this point! I also want to thank the coaches at Pitt for this amazing opportunity. H2P!!
A rising high school senior, George trains and competes year-round with Team Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics, where she primarily specializes in distance freestyle.
George is coming off a 2025-26 season that saw her make a sizable leap forward in the 500 free, dropping nearly three seconds. Her lifetime bests in the 200 and 1650 free, 1:53.65 and 16:47.10, were set in March 2025, while she posted season bests of 1:53.68 and 16:51.79 in those events this past season.
George holds Junior National qualifying times in the 500 and 1650 free; she has competed at Winter Juniors once and Summer Juniors twice.

200 Freestyle: 1:53.65 500 Freestyle: 4:55.24 1650 Freestyle: 16:47.10A Division I program, Pittsburgh competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference, with the women’s team placing sixth out of 15 teams at the 2026 conference championships. George’s current career best in the 1650 free would have finished 23rd and scored two points, setting her up to be an immediate contributor with two full seasons of training still ahead before she lines up at her first conference meet. It took times of 1:46.88 and 4:46.29 to score in her other two top events, the 200 and 500 free.
George joins breaststroke/IM specialist Aubrey Buchanan as the only publicized commits in Pitt’s class of 2031 so far.
