ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Animal Services will be waiving adoption fees for eligible pets on select dates through October.
Adoptable dogs will be visiting the community throughout a series of special adoption events. The first one will be taking place from 4-6 p.m. during the Red Wings game at ESL Ballpark Wednesday. There will also be an event from noon-6 p.m. that same day at the shelter on Verona Street.
Here is the full list of events taking place:
Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Red Wings Game, 4 – 6 p.m., 1 Morrie Silver Way, Wednesday, Sept. 9 – Rochester Animal Services, noon – 6 p.m., 184 Verona Street, Rochester. Saturday, Sept. 26 – Rochester Animal Services, noon – 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11 – East Rochester Farmers’ Market, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m., 317 Main St., East Rochester, Sunday, Oct. 11 – Rochester Animal Services, 12 noon – 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 – Rochester Animal Services Halloween Adoption Event, noon – 4 p.m.The City of Rochester says this is part of The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (ASPCA) nationwide effort to help more shelter animals find loving homes.
All animals available for adoption are included in the fee-waived promotion during the listed dates. This includes animals currently at the shelter and those in foster care. For animals in foster care, the waived adoption fee will be honored for applications submitted here.
According to the city, adoptable animals at the shelter will also be available for free on days where adoption fees are waived.
