During the second day of the India vs Sri Lanka 2nd Test match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground (SSC) in Colombo, Dhruv Jurel, after reaching his second Test hundred and his first away from home, displayed a special celebration. While speaking to the media, Jurel revealed that the tattoo celebration flashing “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisaan” was for his father and grandfather. Apart from sharing the reason behind the special celebration, he also provided an update on Rishabh Pant, who batted on day 2 after being retired hurt on day 1, being struck at the left wrist. The Southpaw scored 63 runs on day 2 before being dismissed. However, he did not keep the wickets; Jurel provided an update on the same.
Jurel, while speaking to the media, said, "Rishabh Pant had pain on his shoulder so I kept the wickets today. He should be fine to keep tomorrow. The medical team is closely monitoring him."
He further added, "To play Test cricket for India is a pride for all of us. To wear the baggy blue, it gives goosebumps. It's special. Everyone plays differently."
"The way Pant plays, it's different. I can't play like that. I keep on asking him how to take on a bowler. Pant and I play for the same country. When he scores, I feel happy. When I score, he feels good. It's good."
