There's more drama ahead for Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Panesar-Unwin (Heather Peace) in EastEnders.
The beloved couple haven't had the easiest of marriages, despite initially believing that their trauma ended with the death of Suki's despicable husband Nish (Navin Chowdhry).
Over the last year, they've battled tough familial circumstances when Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) attempted to take his own life and was diagnosed with complex PTSD, had a botched attempt to raise teenage Avani Nandra-Hart's (Aaliyah James) baby, and, following that, have been on a journey to adopt their own child.
A young girl, Ria Virdi (Aaria Sharma), has since been placed in their care on a foster placement.
Eve has struggled to bond with the youngster, and in upcoming scenes, Suki fears the worst when she learns that Ria's birth mum has asked for full custody.
A matter escalates at The Queen Vic, and when Ria is injured, Suki threatens legal action against landlady Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace).
It seems that an evil bigger story could be on the horizon, with executive producer Ben Wadey teasing the plot line to Radio Times and other media at a recent press event.
"Suki and Eve have something big coming up," Wadey began.
"We have we deliberately played out the adoption story very slowly and very realistically because it's a real world issue that we're still going through.
"We wanted to get that right, but Suki's been a little bit quiet for a little while, and we wanted to correct that."
He added: "So Sukeve have something quite major coming up. We're going to do a little announcement in the coming weeks to tease that a little bit more."

Earlier this year, speaking at The Radio Times Covers Party 2026, Sopal was asked about the adoption storyline.
"That's going to be a nice long arc, and we're going to delve quite deep, hopefully, into both of their backgrounds and lives, and just see the effects of what it means and what it takes to actually go ahead and adopt," she said.
"We want to be as truthful as we possibly can. It's not easy. We know that. The team at EastEnders have done their background research, so you're in for a treat."
It was reported last week that Suki's step-son Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) will be exiting within the following months. Although an EastEnders spokesperson declined to comment when approached by Radio Times, could it be related to this?
Or perhaps the arrival of Ria's birth mother is about to rock the boat?
