As we get through the final weeks of summer, there is one thing to look forward to in addition to cooler weather and that's none other than The Great British Bake Off.
The cosy baking series returns next month and things look slightly different as Nigella Lawson joins the tent as judge, alongside Paul Hollywood.
Filming took place over the last few months as Lawson, alongside Hollywood, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding spent the hottest summer together in the tent, with a new intake of bakers rising to each of the challenges.
Next month, viewers can expect to see Lawson bring her trademark warmth and passion for flavour to the tent - and we now have a closer look.
Earlier this year, Lawson was announced as the show's new judge and said she was "bubbling with excitement" to be joining the series.
She replaces Dame Prue Leith, who left the series after almost a decade as a judge on the show.
In a statement, Lawson said she was "uncharacteristically rather lost for words right now!"
She continued: "Of course it’s daunting to be following in the footsteps of Prue Leith and Mary Berry before her, great dames both, but I’m also bubbling with excitement. The Great British Bake Off is more than a television programme, it’s a National Treasure – and it’s a huge honour to be entrusted with it.
"I’m just thrilled to be joining the team and all the new bakers to come, I wish the marvellous Prue all the best, and am giddily grateful for the opportunity!”
While teasers on what to expect from the new season are scarce, co-host Hammond has shared that Hollywood and Lawson's on-screen chemistry is "unbelievable".
Speaking on Lorraine back in May, Hammond said: "Obviously we’ve started [filming], so I’ve been watching. I’m telling you, the chemistry between her and Paul is unbelievable."
Referring to a photo of the judges on a screen, Hammond continued: "Look, you can feel it, can’t you? Don’t they look good-looking? Look at them!
"Honestly, they’re so good together. Because I’ll be honest with you, they don’t always agree, and it’s so good!"
The Great British Bake Off will return in September 2026.
