In fact, I recognize the exhibition slate of games for what they are — an opportunity for players on the back half of the roster to stake a claim to a job when Week 1 opens up in September. The Bears used a fourth-round pick in 2025 on Hyppolite, who looks to be squarely on the roster bubble as the exhibition season begins. Hyppolite didn’t get much playing time last year. And since being drafted, the Bears have added a handful of depth linebackers (D’Marco Jackson, Keyshaun Elliott, Jon Rhattigan, Jack Sanborn, Tony Fields II, and Wayne Matthews III) who could conceivably push him off the roster if he doesn’t play well.
