A husband and wife were shot in a Mira Mesa garage, killing the wife and critically injuring the husband, authorities said Saturday.
Officers responded shortly before 7 p.m. Friday to reports of suspicious activity at a home in the 10100 block of Summerview Court, according to the San Diego Police Department.
“Officers arrived to find a woman and man down inside the garage. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene,” Lt. Chris Leahy said. “The man sustained an apparent gunshot wound(s) to his upper torso and was transported by San Diego Fire-Rescue paramedics to a local trauma center, where he remained in critical condition.”
Investigators determined the two were a married couple who lived at the residence. Their identities are being withheld pending family notifications.
The SDPD’s Homicide Unit has assumed responsibility for the investigation. “Detectives are processing the scene and working to identify and interview witnesses, family members, and neighbors to determine the sequence of events,” Leahy said.
