Sonora, CA…A Sonora woman died in a single-vehicle collision yesterday evening. The 20-year-old driver of an eastbound 1998 Jeep Cherokee was ejected when the vehicle overturned on the Stockton Road onramp off Highway 108. The Police Department received the 9-1-1 call at approximately 6:38 pm and arrived on scene at 6:40 pm. Despite lifesaving efforts made by a citizen, law enforcement, and ultimately fire/medical personnel, the driver sadly succumb to her injuries. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle. We are not releasing the victim’s name at this time as we want to give the family time to make notifications. The fatal crash remains under investigation.
