She sliced 0.14 seconds off the previous standard of 54.14 which she set on the leadoff of the women’s 4×100 free relay on day 1.
Taylor was 5th at the halfway point in 26.09, slightly slower than the 26.02 she opened in three days ago. She was two tenths faster on the second, closing sub-28 in 27.91.

This record marks Wales’ fifth of the meet. Taylor has lowered the 100 free mark twice, the women’s 4×100 free relay set a new record of 3:39.81 to finish 5th, the men’s 4×200 free relay clocked 7:09.59 for bronze and a new national mark, and the mixed 4×100 free relay also won bronze with a Welsh record of 3:24.33.
