64-Year-Old Country Superstar Reaches Impressive Milestone, Over 35 Years After Starting His Career

Garth Brooks has added yet another impressive accomplishment to his repertoire.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently announced Brooks as having the Top Album of the Year so far, according to the Mid-Year's Best List for 2026.

Brooks earned the title with his 2025 release, The Anthology Part VI: The Comeback, The Next Five Years, a six-disc collection with 60 songs and more than 200 pages of behind-the-scenes photos and stories from Brooks and his band.

According to the RIAA's announcement, Brooks' album has reached 3x Platinum (signifying 3 million units sold), making it the top certified album of the year so far.

The latest accomplishment is just another notch in Brooks' belt, as the 64-year-old singer is already considered to be one of the best-selling artists of all time by the RIAA. He also has the most albums sold by any artist, and is the only artist in history to earn 10 Diamond album certifications (signifying more than 10 million sold per certification).

Brooks even received the inaugural RIAA Artist of a Lifetime Award, for which he was honored with a special Washington D.C. ceremony last month.

In addition to his impressive album sales milestones, Brooks has also had plenty of songs dominate the charts — including 19 singles that reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart.
