2026 Columbus Sectionals
July 16-19, 2026 Columbus, Ohio LCM (50 meters) Meet Mobile “2026 Central Zone East Summer Speedo Sectiona”Kicking off the first night of Sectionals in Columbus was KK LeBlanc who swam to a lifetime best 2:13.31 in the women’s 200 backstroke. LeBlanc has dropped almost three seconds in the event this summer as she ended the 2025 LCM season with a lifetime best 2:16.20.
Also highlighting the session was Paige Delma who touched in a 2:34.18 in the 200 breast. Delma has been as fast as a 2:32.37 before from last summer. Both LeBlanc and Delam swim collegiately for Ohio State. Their teammate Carrie Furbee swam to a win in the 50 fly with a 26.94.
The only non-Ohio State win on the night for the women’s side came in the 800 free as Elizabeth Eichbrecht swam to a 8:49.77 in the 800 free. Eichbrecht is headed to Indiana this fall and is the #14 ranked recruit in the class. Her lifetime best LCM 800 free is a 8:48.54 from last July at Columbia Sectionals.
Leading the way on the men’s side was William Savarese who dropped over three seconds in the 200 breaststroke for the win. Savarese touched in a 2:14.04, taking time off his previous best of a 2:17.10 that he swam for 4th at this meet exactly a year ago. Savarese swims collegiately for Michigan.
After swimming a lifetime best 2:00.09 in the morning, Aiden Gerst touched in a 2:00.53 in the 200 backstroke for the win in finals. Gerst, who swims collegiately for Cincinnati, entered the day with a best time of a 2:01.73 from the Dubai Open Championship in February 2025.
Ohio State teammates Isaac Fleig and Matthew Klinge each swam to a win. Fleig won the 1500 free in a 15:31.98, off his lifetime best 15:16.33 while Klinge won the 50 fly in a 23.59 and was the only swimmer sub-24 seconds.
