Awarded by the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC), the accolade stands as one of the most distinguished international honors in the discipline.

The professor is scheduled to formally accept the medal during the 31st ASNC Annual Scientific Session, which will be hosted in Las Vegas, Nevada, this coming September.

    A career-spanning legacy of innovation

This global recognition honors her profound, lifelong contributions to the advancement of cardiovascular imaging and critical care.

A towering figure in the field, Abdel Fattah was among the trailblazing founding members of the ASNC in 1993.

She was also one of the first female physicians worldwide to successfully bridge the gap between nuclear cardiology applications and acute critical care medicine, dramatically expanding diagnostic and therapeutic pathways for high-risk patients.

Her pioneering work successfully integrated nuclear cardiology into the high-stakes environment of critical care, forever changing how we diagnose and manage acute cardiac crises.

Throughout her illustrious academic and research journey, she established the Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (Nuclear Medicine) Unit within Kasr Al-Ainy’s Critical Care Department.

Under her leadership, the unit led a series of seminal clinical studies that revolutionized diagnostic protocols, patient monitoring, and intensive care management, making her an authoritative reference in global medical literature.

Beyond her clinical and scientific breakthroughs, Abdel Fattah’s legacy is deeply rooted in medical education.

Over the decades, she has mentored, trained, and inspired generations of cardiologists, critical care specialists, and researchers across Egypt and the international medical community, leaving her mark on the future of global healthcare.
