Ariana Grande has dropped out of appearing in American Horror Story season 13.
The iconic popstar was set to join returning stars including Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts and Evan Peters in the next season of the upcoming horror anthology series, which continue the story of the beloved 2013/2014 season Coven.
However, various outlets, including The Hollywood Reporter, have confirmed that Grande will no longer appear in the series due to conflicting schedules with her Eternal Sunshine tour.
American Horror Story season 13, which is set for release on 24 September, will also see the return of cast members including Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman and Jessica Lange.
While season 13 would have been Grande's first appearance in American Horror Story, she has previously worked with showrunner Ryan Murphy on 2015's Scream Queens.
Meanwhile, in recent years, she's taken on high-profile acting roles, most prominently Glinda in Wicked and Wicked: For Good.
The synopsis for AHS season 13 reads: “An unrivaled 13th installment that will do justice to everyone’s most feared number. Bringing together an all-star cast, many of whom are reprising fan favorite roles, American Horror Story: 13 continues to build on the anthology’s decades-long legacy that has been streamed more than 700 million hours across the globe and spawned a legion of dedicated fans.
"American Horror Story has redefined the genre with various instalments featuring a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself.
"Which iconic horrors will return to haunt the hallowed halls of 13 and what new terrors await? Light your candles, draw your pentagrams and prepare for a supreme surprise.”
