The President of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA), Hany Abou Rida, announced that the board of directors approved a contract renewal for senior national team head coach Hossam Hassan and team manager Ibrahim Hassan.
This decision stems from the board’s commitment to continuing the national team’s technical project and building upon Egyptian football’s recent historic achievements, the EFA explained.
The EFA President added that the board of directors will finalize the official contract renewal procedures during its upcoming meeting, which will take place immediately upon the national team delegation’s arrival home.
This announcement comes shortly after the Egyptian national team exited the 2026 World Cup in the Round of 16, following a dramatic three–two loss against Lionel Messi’s Argentina on Tuesday evening.
EFA board member Mostafa Abou Zahra had previously indicated that Hossam Hassan is set to remain at the helm of the Pharaohs through the 2030 World Cup.
