ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester has awarded $150,000 to 12 local artists and arts organizations through the Artsbloom initiative.
The funding helps support projects in dance, music, visual arts, and arts education across the city, totaling $370,000 over the first three years of the initiative.
Recipients include:
Borinquen Dance Theatre Day Off Ltd. Drag Me to the Stage Emily Collins PUSH Physical Theatre Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra Shootin’ Starzz Institute Sound Foundations of Rochester, Inc. Teaching Artists ROC The Local Sound Collaborative Visual Studies Workshop Western New York ComicsBorinquen Dance Theatre, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Teaching Artists ROC, and the Visual Studies Workshop are receiving the most funds, each getting $20,000.
“Through ArtsBloom, we continue to invest in artists and arts organizations that bring creativity, opportunity, and inspiration to every quadrant of our city. Congratulations to this year’s awardees. I look forward to seeing how their work enriches our neighborhoods and strengthens Rochester’s creative community,” said Rochester Mayor Malik Evans.
The next round of Artsbloom proposals will be accepted in December.
