America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders star Reece Weaver has officially hung up her boots and poms — and she’s eagerly anticipating her next chapter.
“I’m in a stage in my life where I am trying to figure out what is next,” Reece, 24, said during an appearance on the Thursday, June 25, episode of the “Human School” podcast, revealing that she and husband Will Allman recently felt compelled to leave Texas for Alabama. “We don’t know what the next steps are, but we know that the Lord was calling us back to Tuscaloosa and we had so much peace with that.”
Fresh out of college at the University of Alabama, Reece danced with the DCC for three NFL seasons. The influencer opted to retire at the end of 2025.
“We have some other fun projects that I’ve been working on,” Reece teased on Thursday of her next professional steps. “As I’ve been on the Cowboys, I have a book coming out that’s really exciting. There are things in the works and things to come, but right now, I feel like I’m in a part of my life where I’m trying to feel encouraged, inspired and to see really what is next.”
Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Reece Weaver's Retirement Explained: What to Know
In addition to her “faith-based” memoir, Reece is hoping to expand her family with her husband of two years.
“I think there are dreams in the future of wanting to start a family and wanting to still dance, but I just don’t know what that looks like right now,” she mentioned. “So, we’re kind of in the experimental [phase now].”
Reece’s decision to walk away from NFL cheerleading was featured on season 3 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
Courtesy of Netflix“We are so busy. Events and appearances, we are in and we are out,” Reece exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month of her Cowboys tenure. “I think sometimes we get caught up in, ‘This is a job. We gotta execute.’ Of course, we want to make sure that we keep our standards high and show the world who we are, but I often think that I missed out on maybe looking around the corner, soaking it in and taking a few deep breaths.”
She added at the time, “There are some really cool twists and turns and fun things that you get to experience. You don’t want to miss out on them, so soak it all in.”
DCC Director Kelli Finglass Reveals How She Really Felt About Reece Retiring
While Reece stressed to Us that she’s “really excited” about her future chapters, she’s admittedly been hesitant to acknowledge that she is retired.
“I think retirement for me, at least the retirement that we use through the Cowboys, is you’re done with that journey of being a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader,” Reece added on the “Human School” podcast. “For a lot of people, when you get to that position, it kind of makes you think you’re done with dance. I don’t want to use it because I’m not retiring from dance. I’m just moving on to the next chapter and the next. … I’m starting a blank canvas of what my story is going to look like.”
