Grammy-nominated music producer Tay Keith has been found dead in his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee.
Keith, whose real name is Brytavious Chambers, has worked with music icons like Eminem, Beyoncé, Travis Scott and Drake. The prolific hip hop producer also worked with Lil Baby, Sexyy Red, 21 Savage and J Cole.
Nashville police, per Variety: “No foul play is suspected in the death of Brytavious Chambers, 29, also known as Grammy-nominated record producer Tay Keith. He was found dead in his Martin St. apt. this afternoon by officers performing a welfare check. His death is unclassified pending autopsy results.”
Keith is best known for co-producing Travis Scott's hit track 'Sicko Mode', which earned him his first Grammy Award nomination in 2019, aged just 23. He was also nominated for his work on Drake and 21 Savage's song 'Rich Flex'. Last year, Keith made Forbes' 30 Under 30 Music list.
A Memphis native, Keith was a teenager when he started posting music online. He was just 14 when he met BlocBoy JB and they started working together. His old friend shared a throwback photo of the two of them from when they were kids. In a caption, the artist wrote, “Damn Cuz You Just Hurt Me Bad.”
Tay Keith's most recent producing credits included Jack Harlow’s 2025 song 'Just Us' featuring Doja Cat; Travis Scott’s single '4×4'; and 'Broke His Heart' from Megan Thee Stallion’s 2024 album Megan. His last post, on June 9, celebrated the inclusion of "Get It Sexyy" by Sexyy Red in the latest season of HBO's drama Euphoria.
During a Rolling Stoneinterview in 2022, Keith spoke about being influenced by growing up in Memphis. “I was born into this shit and raised in this shit,” he said. “Memphis music is all I listened to and all my family listened to. My stepfather who I am still close with really influenced my taste for music.”
