Rod Stewart fans are once again being met with disappointing news.
The rock legend has canceled yet another scheduled performance as he continues to battle ongoing health issues affecting his voice. Stewart was due to perform in Chula Vista, California, as part of the U.S. leg of his One Last Time tour when doctors ultimately advised him not to take the stage.
According to a statement shared ahead of the concert on June 12, Stewart had made every effort to perform.
"He travelled to the venue and made every effort to perform, but on the advice of his doctors and following a diagnosis of an acute upper respiratory infection that has resulted in laryngitis, he is unable to take to the stage this evening."
The 81-year-old later addressed fans directly, sharing a glimpse of the dismantled concert setup behind him. "Well here I am in beautiful Chula Vista as the stage is being taken down around me," he wrote.

While he said his overall health had improved, the same couldn't be said for the condition most crucial to a singer. "Following treatment, I'm feeling much better, but my voice is not. I'm very disappointed and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans."
Stewart continued, "I did everything I could to make the show happen tonight, but unfortunately it just wasn't possible. I will do my utmost to reschedule."

At the time, Stewart expressed a similar sentiment, telling fans, "My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer."
Despite the recent setbacks, Stewart has made it clear he isn't ready to leave the stage behind entirely. While announcing his One Last Time tour in 2024, he explained that although large-scale world tours were winding down, retirement wasn't in the cards. "This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire," he wrote. "I love what I do, and I do what I love."
Stewart is currently expected to resume the tour with a performance in Colorado on June 15.
