It has been confirmed that Harry Potter icon Daniel Radcliffe will be joined by Frozen star Jonathan Groff in upcoming Vietnam War thriller film, Trust the Man.
The news was first confirmed by Deadline, with the duo set to star in the film written and directed by Will Graham (Daisy Jones & The Six). Groff's role was originally to be played by Lucas Hedges, but Hedges had to pull out due to scheduling issues.
Trust the Man, which is set to shoot in New Jersey this summer, and will follow an ambitious Army Intelligence officer who’s assigned to investigate a decorated soldier with a mysterious past during the Vietnam War.
As surveillance and interrogation deepen, the line between loyalty and obsession blurs, leading both men into a dangerous and uncontrollable connection.
Trust the Man marks a reunion for Radcliffe and Groff, who starred together in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along on stage, alongside Lindsay Mendez. The trio became close, with Groff going on to officiate Mendez's wedding to fellow actor J Alex Brinson, while Radcliffe was a ring bearer.
As well as his starring role in the Harry Potter films, Radcliffe has also had parts in movies including Horns, What If, Swiss Army Man, Now You See Me 2, Imperium, Guns Akimbo and The Lost City, as well as series such as Miracle Workers.
Meanwhile Groff, who plays Kristoff in the Frozen franchise, has had roles in films including American Sniper, The Matrix Resurrections and Knock at the Cabin, as well as series such as Glee and Mindhunter.
He is also known for originating the role of King George in Hamilton on stage, and for appearing in two recent episodes of Doctor Who, playing a romantic interest of Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor, Rogue.
