NCSA finalist Amber Klingensmith from Pennsylvania has committed to the University of Wyoming for the recruiting class of 2027.

Klingensmith swims for Team Pittsburgh Elite Aquatics and attends Norwin Senior High School. At the 2026 Pennsylvania 3A High School State Championships, she finished 11th in the 100 back (57.00) and 10th in the 100 fly (56.38).
Last summer at the long course NCSA Summer Championships, Klingensmith finished 27th in the 100 back (1:05.53) and 26th in the 50 fly (28.65).
Her older sister, Hanna Klingensmith, just wrapped up her freshman season at Bucknell University where she qualified for the ‘B’ final in the 200 free and 500 free at the 2026 ECAC Open Championships.
In March, Amber swam at the ISCA International Senior Cup where she set new personal best times in the 50 free (24.00), 100 free (51.53), 50 back (25.95), 50 fly (25.22), and 100 fly (56.00).

50 free — 24.00 100 free — 51.53 100 back — 56.38 100 fly — 56.00The Wyoming women compete in the Mountain West conference where they finished 7th at the 2026 Championships with 719 points. They were about 100 points shy of Air Force, who finished 6th with 811.5 points.
Klingensmith has another year before she will arrive on campus in the fall of 2027. On last year’s Wyoming team, she would have ranked 8th in the 100 free, 3rd in the 100 back, and 6th in the 100 fly.
She joins Emma Wood and Quincy Taliaferro in the women’s class of 2027.
