Junior Nationals qualifier Ella Lee has announced her verbal commitment to swim and study at the University of Missouri beginning in the fall of 2027. She publicized the news on SwimCloud, writing:
I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Missouri! First, I want to thank God for this opportunity and for the guidance throughout this process. I also want to thank all of my family, friends, coaches, and teammates who have supported me throughout my swimming career. A big thanks to Coach Grevers, Coach Kate, and the rest of the coaching staff at Mizzou for this amazing opportunity! Go Tigers!!
A senior at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball, Texas, Lee has been a member of her school’s varsity swimming team since her freshman year. She also trains year-round with The Woodlands Swim Team, where she primarily specializes in breaststroke and IM.
Lee is coming off a breakthrough 2025-26 season that saw her drop over seven seconds in the 400 IM, nearly four seconds in the 200 IM, over three seconds in the 200 breast, and just under a second in the 100 breast. She set all of her current lifetime bests at the SE TNAQ Speedo Southern Premier in March, clocking 1:03.26 in the 100 breast, 2:17.09 in the 200 breast, 2:02.84 in the 200 IM, and 4:21.19 in the 400 IM.
On the high school scene, Lee is a five-time Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state champion. She won the 100 breast (1:04.26) in addition to an off-event, the 100 fly (56.43) in February, after winning the 200 IM as a freshman and sophomore and the 100 breast as a sophomore.
Beyond the short course pool, Lee qualified and competed at the Summer Junior National Championships (LCM) in July, where she touched 37th in the 200 IM (2:21.77), 38th in the 400 IM (5:00.24 – PB), and 62nd in the 200 breast (2:39.77 – PB). She notched a lifetime-best 2:20.52 in the 200 IM earlier in the month.

Lee’s current times fall outside the cutoffs needed to earn a second swim at the meet, with times of 1:01.35/2:12.62 required in the 100/200 breast and 2:00.73/4:17.08 needed in the 200/400 IM, though she still has two full seasons of training to go before lining up at her first conference meet.
Lee joins Natalia Amescua, Hayleigh Haines, Ella Waters, Naomi Bowland, and Lilia Barber in committing to the Tigers’ class of 2031 so far.
