EastEnders airs aftermath of Ian Beale incident and Max Branning twist in early BBC iPlayer release

Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) stands to lose everything in EastEnders, after accidentally knocking over Jordan Fox (Jahsaiah Williams) with his car.

He was desperate to guide drunken mum Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) away from Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Ross Marshall's (Alex Walkinshaw) wedding, unaware that the youngster was roaming the streets, having grown tired of the party.

His mum Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) ordered him to return to the marquee, and screamed out into the night after finding him unconscious on the floor.

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) raced over, and after finding a traffic cone marked with Ian's name to reserve the parking spot, instructed his colleagues to pay him a visit.

Peter Beale (Thomas Law) called an ambulance and was able to confirm that Jordan was still breathing, while Jack reached out to partner Denise Fox (Diane Parish) to inform her what was unfolding.

She was on another line to the hospital, who urged her to come in for immediate treatment following a blood cancer diagnosis.

Denise told the doctor that she'd phone them back, but quickly became consumed by Jordan's nightmare and didn't.

Back in the Square, police descended on Ian's house, informing him that evidence showed he'd collided with a pedestrian after leaving the wedding. They did a quick breathalyser test, and arrested him for driving over the limit and failing to stop after a road traffic collision.

He was mortified to be brought into the station and was shocked by Jack's hard approach towards him. He was completely unaware that the person he'd hit was Jordan.

The attending officer recorded a reading of 41 micrograms of alcohol in Ian's system, which was over the legal limit of 35 micrograms. He insisted that he only had one drink, though the officer highlighted that there was no exact 'correct' number of drinks to have before it made you incapable of driving.

Ian refused a solicitor, though upon hearing that Jordan was the victim, completely backtracked. He was kept in a cell, and Jack informed him that he was likely to have a long list of enemies now.

At the hospital, the consultant told Chelsea and her son had suffered a spinal injury and would need surgery.

Meanwhile, at the wedding, Vicki told her guests that they just had one hour left in the venue so had to make the most of it. A drunk Max Branning (Jake Wood) was sat in a corner, enraged that nobody would support his relationship with Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), and was narked by a jokey comment that Vicki made about them.

He stood up, grabbed the mic from her hands, and produced the ring that Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson) was planning to use to propose to Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) with.

Max got down on one knee and proposed to Cindy, who looked absolutely stunned by his actions.

    How will she respond?
