Following the death of Steve Carell's Nick in season 1 of The Four Seasons, the group's quarterly getaways look a little different in the show's sophomore outing.
Co-creator Tracey Wigfield described his absence (via The Hollywood Reporter) as "this big hole", one that creates "new character dynamics" and raises questions such as: "How does Ginny fit into the group?"
While Lang Fisher, who made the series alongside Wigfield and Tina Fey (who also stars as Kate), said that Nick was "the connector of the group".
"He has that personality that makes everybody do stuff and feels like he is the one driving some of these vacations," Fisher explained. "But when you take that guy out, does the group survive?"
As it turns out, they do – although there are a few wrinkles to iron out as they navigate their grief while dealing with their own personal challenges in another incredibly moreish season of television.

When could The Four Seasons season 3 be released?
Both seasons 1 and 2 premiered in May 2025 and 2026 respectfully, so season 3 should (fingers crossed) arrive in May 2027 – or thereabouts

Which cast could return for The Four Seasons season 3?
If given the greenlight, we'd expect the following faces to all return:

David Tennant also popped up as Gianpiero, a potential romantic interest for Anne, so we'd hope to see him return.
As for Steve Carell's Nick, he appeared in a flashback episode in season 2. But it's unclear as to whether he might feature in a third season.
And there's plenty of room for some new faces, too.
What could happen in The Four Seasons season 3?
Well, many of us will be tuning in eagerly to see whether Anne and Gianpiero can make a go of it. It would be a crying shame not to revisit that particular situation.
As for the rest of the group, Danny and Claude ultimately decided against becoming parents – probably a wise move, given they're now full-time carers for Danny's elderly mum following her fall. But if The Four Seasons has taught us anything, it's that its strongest couple will always find something new to lovingly disagree about.
Season 2 proved a rocky ride for Kate and Jack, whose vastly different communication styles drove a wedge between them at times. But they're still committed to each other and their marriage, and we'd like to find them in a better place next time around – even if a healthy dose of bickering remains inevitable.
And then there's Ginny, now firmly embedded within the group after bonding with Anne following the birth of her son. With baby Gino to raise, she'll certainly have plenty on her plate.
