ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A cool start to this morning as temperatures got down to the mid and upper 40s, but they are on their way up and will reach the beautiful low 70s this afternoon alongside mostly sunny skies. A slight breeze will develop later this afternoon/this evening ahead of a weak cold front, which will pass through around 9-10pm bringing a brief shower mainly east of Rochester. Skies clear and winds calm afterwards, leading to another chilly night with lows in the upper 40s.
After that brief shower we don’t see any rain in our area for nearly a WEEK. The omega block is still hanging around, still keeping us warm and dry, and we will see temperatures slowly start to rise starting midway through this week. By Friday we will reach 80 degrees before clouds thicken and we see the return of rain showers to start next weekend.
Looking further ahead, overall trends point towards a warmer and drier than average second week of June. Needless to say this is a much welcomed turnaround from what we had for the majority of the spring season. Enjoy it!
