Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Polish Junior National Team member Mateusz Bienkowski has announced his commitment to continue his academic and athletic careers at Findlay beginning in fall 2026.

“I am excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Findlay! I would like to give special thanks to coaches Diego and Dani for their trust and this amazing opportunity. I am incredibly grateful to my parents and siblings for their constant support, as well as to everyone who has helped me along the way. I’m looking forward to this new chapter. Go Oilers!”

Bienkowski swims for UKS Zabianka Gdansk out of Northern Poland. He swam at the Polish Open in April and swam to lifetime bests in both backstroke events. He was 5th in the LCM 100 back in a 56.18 and 3rd in the 200 back with a 2:00.23.

He represented Poland at the 2025 European Junior Championships and was 24th in the 200 back (2:04.95), 28th in the 200 free (1:51.46), 41st in the 50 back (26.95), and 53rd in the 400 free (4:03.73). He also swam on the boys 4×200 free relay.

Bienkowski’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:

    100 back: 56.18 (49.53) 200 back: 2:00.23 (1:46.15) 200 free: 1:50.96 (1:37.08) 400 free: 4:02.01 (4:31.15)

The Findlay men captured the 2026 GMAC title with 1905 points, finishing over 400 points ahead of 2nd place Ashland. The team went on to finish 8th at the 2026 NCAA Championships and were led by Sebastian Camacho and Camilo Marrugo who scored 50 individual points each. Camacho will be transferring to Minnesota this fall, leaving a gap in the mid-distance free group. Marrugo was a graduate student this past season so he will also not be returning.

Based on his best converted times, Bienkowski is a strong addition and could make an immediate impact at the NCAA level. His best converted time in the 200 back would have been just off what it took to make it back at NCAAs as it took a 1:45.72 to earn a 2nd swim. His 200 free time is also off what it took to make the ‘B’ final as that took a 1:37.04.

Bienkowski arrives this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Henry Wood, Ollie Davis-Tootill, Jackson Newcomb, and Nolan Green.
