A 64-year-old woman has died after the vehicle she was riding in was struck by a hit-and-run driver Sunday morning in Grand Crossing.
According to Chicago police, the woman was in an SUV traveling northbound in the 6900 block of South Stony Island at approximately 2:42 a.m. when the driver of a sedan slammed into the passenger side of the SUV.
The driver of the sedan fled the scene on foot, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Chicago police.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash.
Police are investigating, and no further information was immediately available.
