Tom Hardy is reportedly out of the Paramount+ series MobLand ahead of season two's release and following production of the episodes.
The British actor will not return for season three of the global organised crime series, Variety has reported, with differences behind the scenes cited as the reason.
MobLand first aired in March 2025 and stars Pierce Brosnan, Dame Helen Mirren, Paddy Considine, and Joanne Froggatt alongside Hardy.
Filming for season two has now wrapped and is expected to drop later this year, while season three is reportedly in the pipeline but now, apparently, without Tom Hardy's involvement.
Radio Times has approached Paramount+ and Tom Hardy's representatives for comment.
The star-studded series came to our screens courtesy of the creator of The Gentlemen, Guy Ritchie, and follows an Irish crime family, the Harrigans, and their new war with the Stevenson family.
The crime drama was quickly renewed for a second season after it became the second most-watched show in the streamer's history and had been watched by a total of 26 million viewers as of June 2025.
While many fans enjoyed the action-packed series, it did receive some criticism, pointed at Brosnan's accent as Conrad Harrigan, which is supposed to have originated from Kerry. In an interview with Radio Times magazine, Brosnan responded to criticism of his accent, saying: "My own accent is very soft. Conrad’s accent is a million miles away from me."
It was previously reported that Tom Hardy would be taking a sabbatical after filming finished for MobLand due to ongoing health problems.
"I’ve had two knee surgeries now, my disc’s herniated in my back. I’ve got sciatica as well. And I have that… is it plantar fasciitis? Where did that come from? And why? Why?! And I pulled my tendon in my hip as well.
"It’s all falling to bits now, and it’s not going to get better," he told Esquire UK.
How season three of MobLand could be navigated without Tom Hardy remains to be seen.
