Industrial metal band Static-X has canceled all of its remaining 2026 tour dates after revealing that one or more members are dealing with “serious medical issues.”
The band shared the announcement on social media Monday, telling fans that the situation was “unavoidable” and needed “immediate attention.” No specific member or medical condition was identified in the statement.
“Due to serious medical issues, STATIC-X will be forced to cancel our remaining tour dates in 2026,” the band wrote. “The situation is unavoidable and requires immediate attention.”
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience, and we promise to return to the stage, bigger, stronger and faster in 2027.”

The affected shows were scheduled for:

View this post on InstagramBefore the tour cancellation, bassist Tony Campos said the band had been discussing new material with the current lineup after completing work on an upcoming documentary.
Speaking at last year’s Bloodstock Open Air festival, Campos said, “We've been talking about writing some new material, some new songs. We have a documentary that's in the works right now. So we're gonna finish that first. And then, once we drop that, then we'll revisit going in and writing some new material.”
He added: “I don't wanna juggle too many plates. Let's just finish [the documentary]. Then we can focus all of our attention on new material.”
The documentary, titled Evil Disco: The Rise, Fall, And Regeneration Of Static-X, was first teased in March 2024 during the 25th anniversary celebration of the band’s breakout album Wisconsin Death Trip.
In a statement released with the trailer, the band said: “25 years ago today, STATIC-X unleashed 'Wisconsin Death Trip' onto the world. On this very special anniversary, we would like to share a teaser for the first ever official STATIC-X documentary film.”
“Thank you all for 25 years of amazing memories… So much more to come!”
According to Blabbermouth, Campos told Rock News Weekly that the documentary would look closely at the band’s history and the impact of late frontman Wayne Static.
“I think it's gonna be cool, man. It's gonna be a really cool look back at the history of the band and the history of Wayne and how he affected all our lives,” Campos said.
Static-X was formed in 1994 in Los Angeles and became one of the best-known industrial metal acts of the late 1990s. The band gained mainstream success with “Push It” and its platinum-selling debut album Wisconsin Death Trip.
The group released six studio albums before officially breaking up in 2013. Wayne Static died in 2014 at age 48. According to the coroner’s report, the musician died after mixing Xanax and other prescription drugs with alcohol.
In 2018, Campos, drummer Ken Jay and guitarist Koichi Fukuda reunited the band in honor of Wayne Static. The comeback era introduced masked vocalist Xer0, who is widely believed to be Edsel Dope, though the band has continued to present Xer0 as a separate character tied to Wayne’s legacy.
Since reforming, the band has released Project: Regeneration Vol. 1 and Project: Regeneration Vol. 2, both featuring archived vocal recordings from Wayne Static alongside new material.
Despite the canceled tour dates, Static-X told fans it plans to return in 2027.
