Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected a 28-player group ahead of the white-ball series against Australia. Pakistan will face Australia for a 3-match ODI series, starting from May 30. Interestingly, Saim Ayub is not part of the setup.
Ahead of the tour, the board has named a total of 28 players to conduct a special training camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The camp is expected to start on 15 May and will run till 21 May.
As per reports, during the 7 days, there will be multiple training sessions as well as practice matches, through which the players in the group will have to prove themselves.
“Twenty-eight players will feature in the NCA White-Ball Camp, which will commence from Friday, 15 May, the PCB announced today. The seven-day camp will conclude on Thursday, 21 May, with players taking part in training sessions as well as practice matches,” PCB informs in their official press release on May 13.
NCA coaching staff will assist the team in trainings
PCB further informs that the players will be assisted by the NCA coaching staff and the team’s white-ball coaching staff to enhance the quality of their players. Along with many well-known faces, the extended group of players contains U19 fast bowlers like Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza.
“During the camp, the NCA coaching staff will work alongside the men’s team white-ball coaching staff to better prepare the players for the series. The camp also includes Pakistan U19 fast bowlers Abdul Subhan and Ali Raza, who represented Pakistan in the ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup held in Zimbabwe and Namibia earlier this year,” it is informed through the press release.
Here is the 28-member team ahead of the Australia ODI series: Aamir Jamal, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Ahmed Daniyal, Akif Javed, Arafat Minhas, Faisal Akram, Fakhar Zaman, Haider Ali, Hamza Nazeer, Haris Rauf, Hunain Shah, Khawaja Mohammad Nafay, Maaz Sadaqat, Mehran Mumtaz, Mohammad Faik, Mohammad Hasnain, Mohammad Salman Mirza, Naseem Shah, Saad Baig, Saad Masood, Sahibzada Farhan, Shadab Khan, Shamyl Hussain, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Usman Khan.
The ODI series between these two teams will start from May 30 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The following two matches will be on June 2 and June 4, respectively, at the Gaddafi Stadium.
