In his first official statement as the new HCO of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, Ambati Rayudu mentioned that the administration part and cricket should be operated separately. As an official, the former cricketer’s one of the major jobs will be to look after players’ welfare, so that the Hyderabad cricket team can emerge as the powerhouse of cricket in the future.
“I’m a firm believer that cricket should be separated from administration and all the other related matters. Cricket should be run with players being the priority, and my job is to look after players’ welfare and make Hyderabad a powerhouse of domestic cricket,” Ambati Rayudu said in his official statement.
He talked about the player contract system as well in his statement. To streamline the procedure in reality, the former international cricketer can follow the footsteps of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). Rayudu also laid out plans to establish a centre of excellence inspired by the one in Bengaluru.
“A player contract system, like what the Mumbai Cricket Association recently announced, is in the pipeline. We will modernise and professionalise our cricketing operations, which will be automated to avoid human interference,” he added.
Hyderabad Cricket Association is increasing operations
On behalf of the state cricket board, the secretary of HCA informed that they are actively discussing reaching out to the corners of the rural areas as well to explore some raw talents from the fields. They also confirmed a ground to conduct camps in the future. They have a plan to acquire some land as well to expand their operations.
“Mahabubnagar and Karimnagar have new stadiums. Apart from these two, we also acquired a ground in Nizamabad. We are also in discussion for land acquisition in Khammam, Warangal, and Nalgonda. It should be finalised in the next two or three months,” HCA Secretary M. Jeevan Reddy told the media.
