Cook County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a body was found in a pond near an Illinois State Police facility.
According to the department, reports of a body were received by deputies at approximately 10:50 a.m. Monday.
The body was located in a pond east of the intersection of Linda and Holly Lanes in unincorporated Maine Township, just south of an Illinois State Police building in the area.
Deputies were able to pull the body of a deceased male from the water, and the body was taken to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the individual.
No further information was immediately available, and there was no immediate evidence of foul play, according to police.
