Winslow was got himself involved early amid a six-run first inning for UNC. He came up to the plate with UNC already leading 1-0 thanks to an RBI single from Gavin Gallaher, and Winslow drove in two more runs with a single of his own to extend the lead. He would come around to score after Carter French was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Winslow was at it again in the second inning, launching a two-run blast 416 feet to dead center field.

Winslow would collect his fifth RBI of the game in the fourth, doubling to left center field to bring home Cooper Nicholson from second base.

UNC’s offense had its way with Duke pitching all day long, scoring in five of the six half-innings in which it batted. Carolina hitters finished with 11 hits in 29 at-bats to go along with four walks, three hit batsmen and three Blue Devil fielding errors. That was more than enough support for three UNC pitchers, including starter Jason DeCaro. DeCaro tossed three innings of shutout baseball while striking out four Duke hitters, helping him reach 200 for his collegiate career. Ryan Lynch and Caden Glauber combined to pitch the final four innings, allowing just two baserunners between them. Due to the shortened nature of the game, DeCaro was credited with his eighth win despite pitching only three innings.

Carolina has now outscored Duke 35-5 across the last two meetings, though Sunday’s game does not count in the ACC standings. The Diamond Heels are now 37-9-1 overall and will return to action when they host Winthrop Sunday at Boshamer Stadium at 6 p.m.
