The Lebanese Civil Defense Directorate announced on Tuesday the deaths of three of its members while they were carrying out a rescue and first aid operation for those injured in an Israeli airstrike.
The Directorate’s Media and Public Relations Department reported that the members were killed when a building in the town of Majdal Zoun was targeted.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health later confirmed the deaths of five people, including three paramedics from the Lebanese Civil Defense who were trapped under the rubble following the airstrike.
Two Lebanese Army soldiers were also injured in the attack on Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon, according to preliminary reports.
