An investigation is underway after a man was found dead inside a west suburban apartment on Saturday morning, police said.
According to Batavia police, at around 3:52 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call in the 11 block of East Wilson Street. When officers arrived, a 27-year-old woman exited the apartment with injuries that police didn’t immediately specify.
Police entered the residence, where they located a 29-year-old man, who was subsequently pronounced dead. The injured woman was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to law enforcement.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicated the two individuals knew each other, and there was no threat to the community. Additional details about the incident haven’t been released.
Batavia police are investigating in conjunction with the Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force. Authorities ask anyone with information, eyewitness accounts or surveillance video to contact the Batavia Police Investigations Unit at 630-454-2500.
