Great American Family Renews 'County Rescue' for Season 3 - Premiere Date Announced! Get a Sneak Peek! ...Saudi Arabia

Fans of County Rescue have been waiting with bated breath for the fate of Great American Family's first original series. After Season 2 wrapped production in 2024, one of the show's leads, Keller Fornes, passed away unexpectedly. It was unclear if the show would continue once the second season episodes had aired, and viewers, cast and crew alike waited patiently for news.

Parade is happy to announce that the network has renewed the series for a third season which will premiere in 2026!

Season Three will deliver even more heartfelt moments that honor the everyday heroes who dedicate their lives to helping others,” Abbott concluded.

County Rescue is a family drama about the unique challenges EMTs and paramedics face along their personal and professional journeys.  The series follows a team of first responders who navigate the pressures of emergency response work while finding strength in faith, compassion, and community. Viewers have embraced the show’s heartfelt storytelling and uplifting portrayal of everyday heroes.

Joining the production is executive producer Shawn Boskie (God’s Not Dead: In God We Trust, The Last Supper). Returning are Executive Producer and Showrunner JD DeWitt (13 Days in Ferguson, Between the Lines), and Producer Brittany Yost (Redeeming Love, The Blind).

What happened in Season 1 of County Rescue? 

Season 1 of County Rescue saw three probies vying for a single opening. The three try to outwit the others as well as making alliances to better their chances of getting hired all the while saving lives and learning hard lessons on the job.

In Season 2, we continued to follow the paramedics and EMTs of a single house through their professional and personal journeys.

What happens in Season 3 of County Rescue?

In the Season 3 opener, the County Rescue team expands, as they welcome two new members—James (Christian Schupe) and Ema (Alyssa Gonzalez)—bringing new dynamics to the crew. Dani (Julia Reilly) steps into a meaningful mentorship role, guiding a new trainee with patience, encouragement, and the steady compassion that defines her leadership. Liz (Stacy Patino) celebrates a major milestone after being accepted as a fire medic. When tragedy strikes the station, the team must come together, leaning on one another to face loss, resilience, and the unbreakable bond that makes them a family.

Season 1 of County Rescue had five episodes, and Season 2 contained six episodes. No word yet on how many episodes Season 3 will have.

Does Keller Fornes appear in Season 3 of County Rescue?

Keller Fornes appeared in Season 2 of County Rescue. The second season began filming in the summer of 2024. Sadly, Fornes died on Dec. 19, 2024 at the age of 32. No cause for his death was given. The Season 2 finale was his last appearance on County Rescue.

It's unclear how the absence of Fornes' character, Griffin, will be addressed in the series. In the Season 2 finale, the episode closed out with a In Memoriam card to Fornes.

Season 2 of Country Rescue premiered on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025 on Great American Family.

County Rescue will premiere on Sunday, May 17 at 8 p.m. ET on Great American Family. Those who have a subscription to Great American Pure Flix will get early access to the episode on Thursday, May 14.
