Chad Gray, the lead singer of the bands Mudvayne and Hellyeah, is facing a challenging situation involving his beloved French bulldog.
The heavy metal singer’s wife, Shannon Gunz, is giving fans a glimpse into a more personal moment as they deal with the unfortunate incident in their family.
In an Instagram update, the Sirius XM host revealed the health status of their adorable 6-year-old dog named Mad Lee Gray, who underwent emergency spinal surgery earlier this week due to a herniated disc.
Gunz delivered some reassuring news after they were able to visit their fur baby at the clinic.
According to her, Mad Lee Gray has been showing signs of improvement and responding well to medications, despite his scheduled second spinal surgery being postponed following a pneumonia diagnosis.
“Got to see the baby boy yesterday. Mad Lee is responding to antibiotics for pneumonia and will be coming home today. Unfortunately, because he got pneumonia, he didn’t get his second spinal surgery yesterday. We are just grateful he is ok. He still has movement in his back legs, he can stand, and we are hoping that with some rehab, our strong boy will be back on his feet soon. There is a possibility he will have another surgery, but for now, we don’t know,” the caption reads, along with the video of Gray’s wife comforting their beloved pet.

The 54-year-old frontman also took to the comment section to express hope, despite the emotional toll of the situation.
“I love him so much, baby. What a time this has been. We’ll get through it, though. Just another bump in the road huh, Mad? We’re gonna get through it together as a family, buddy. Love you all - Daddy,” he said.

Fans also chimed in, sending love and prayers for their pup’s speedy recovery.
“Precious pup. We are sending you much love and prayer your way!” one wrote.
“Poor boy. They are like our own children. They don't complain while recovering,” another added.
“Sweet baby Mad Lee, feel better, buddy,” another added.
Earlier this week, Gunz posted a series of photos of Mad Lee along with a message asking fans and their followers for prayers after he went for a very serious and complicated spinal surgery.
“Due to past injury/surgery, there is scar tissue and it made the procedure very hard. They were unable to fix the herniated disc,” the radio personality also added.
As he continues to recover, the focus remains on his strength and healing, with hopes high for a full recovery and a safe return home.
Besides the 6-year-old Mad Lee, the couple also has Milly Alexandra, the adorable one-eyed senior French bulldog, who has built a strong following online with over 13.3K followers on Instagram.
