Mae Winardi from Waxhaw, North Carolina has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at Cornell beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

“I’m extremely blessed and excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Cornell University to continue my academic and athletic careers! I am truly thankful for my parents, my brothers, my friends, and my whole @msaswim family for their guidance and support during this journey! A special thank you to Coach Pat and Coach Eileen at Cornell for this amazing opportunity, and I’m so excited for the next four! LET’S GO BIG RED!!!”

Winardi swims for Mecklenburg Swim Association and most recently swam at Sectionals in Cary. There she swam to numerous lifetime best times. Her highest finish was 14th in the 50 free as she swam a 23.72. Her other lifetime best was a 57.24 100 back that she swam in prelims.

She is currently a senior at Marvin Ridge High School and helped the team’s 200 free relay to a state title at the NCHSAA 7A State Championship as she split a 23.28 anchor leg. Individually, she finished 2nd in the 50 free with a 23.74 and a 52.22 100 free.

    Winardi’s Best SCY Times Are:

The Cornell women finished 6th out of eight teams at the 2026 Ivy League Championships with 614.5 points. Hojung Yoon led the team with 63 individual points including a 4th place finish in the 200 IM (1:59.77).

Based on her best times, Winardi is close to what it took to make it back for a finals swim. It took a 23.32 50 free, 50.72 100 free, 1:51.37 200 free, 56.89 100 back, and a 55.68 100 fly to earn a 2nd swim. The team only scored one point in the 50 free as Mingna Xu was 24th in a 23.48.

Winardi will arrive this fall as a member of the class of 2030 along with Kate Lucyshyn, Sarah Carrico, Anna Nishnianidze, Amy Chai, and Abby Lee.
