Rivals is reportedly returning for a third season on Disney Plus, with the streaming platform said to have handed the show an advance renewal.
The tongue-in-cheek drama immerses viewers in the TV industry of the 1980s as a group of ambitious personalities go head-to-head for market dominance, while their steamy personal lives also become increasingly entangled.
Based on the novels by the late Dame Jilly Cooper, the series brings together an all-star cast including David Tennant (The Thursday Murder Club), Aidan Turner (Poldark), Katherine Parkinson (Here We Go) and Danny Dyer (Mr Bigstuff).
With just over a month to go before Rivals season 2 premieres on Disney Plus, The Sun is reporting that a third entry is already in the offing, citing a "TV insider" who made the exciting claim.
The third season would reportedly move on to adapting the third novel in Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles, titled Polo, which adds "moody, macho, and magnificent" ex-polo player Ricky France-Lynch to the party.
The Sun's anonymous source explained: "It's not clear yet if the next series will still be called Rivals or flip to become Polo, or perhaps another title altogether.
"Either way, Disney are so confident the second series will be as well received as the debut season they already have wheels in motion on the third."

Recently, Rivals co-star Parkinson revealed that she had only recently finished work on season 2, but according to The Sun's reporting, she could be back on set before the end of the year.
"I'm just doing additional dialogue, recordings and all the rest of it, but it's really exciting what I'm seeing, so I can't wait for everyone to see it," she told Radio Times.
