ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Minority and women-owned business leaders from across upstate New York gathered in Rochester on Monday for the beginning of the fourth annual MWBE Conference.
Hundreds gathered at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center for three days of business training, seminars and networking. Organizers said supporting minority and women-owned businesses is a key way of letting New York thrive.
“It represents a powerful region — talking about economic development, talking about business opportunity for our minority and women owned businesses,” Tymothi Howard said. “… so that we could put tools in their hands so they can be successful in business,” Howard said.
Organizers said it’s their largest turnout ever, with more than 600 businesses attending.
