Guz Malzahn will begin a 3-year term as a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee starting in 2026. The former Auburn coach joins Louisiana AD Bryan Maggard and former Cal and Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford as newly appointed members of the committee.

Malzahn, then, is a worthy addition to the committee. The former Auburn coach boasts 35 years of coaching experience after playing for Arkansas and Henderson State as a wide receiver in the 1980s.
Currently retired from coaching after spending last season with Florida State, Malzahn has made stops at Auburn, UCF and Arkansas State. He was also an assistant coach for Arkansas, Tulsa and Auburn before landing the Tigers head coaching gig in 2013.
