We reported how Olympic champion and new mom Sarah Sjostrom of Sweden is set to make her 2026 racing debut at next month’s Swim Open Stockholm. However, there is a host of international talent set to race over the course of the four-day competition, giving us a taste of how things may shake out at the European Championships later on this year.

The fearsome quartet of German distance freestylers – Lukas Märtens, Oliver Klemet, Florian Wellbrock, Johannes Liebmann – lead the German contingent, while Olympic medalists Arno Kamminga, Caspar Corbeau and Tes Schouten are scheduled to represent the Netherlands.

Olympic multi-medalist Siobhan Haughey will be one of the athletes vying for gold against Sjostrom, with the women’s splash n’ dash checking in as the Swede’s sole event.

Throw in American talent to the tune of Cal-tied swimmers Destin Lasco, Gabriel Jett and Dare Rose and the Swim Open Stockholm is a must-see competition.
